The Adventure Pack
The cold weather has moved in for the season; thankfully it wasn't as wet today. Yesterday's rain must have brought out some interesting scents, though, because the pack members all had their noses glued to the ground for most of the hike. Coco and Toskey were the most avid scent-seekers but Rucksack and Wesley did a lot of investigating as well. Other than that, there were also a few spurts of high-energy running between Coco and Toskey, and ...

The Adventure Pack
It was cold and wet from the moment we started hiking today, but that didn't slow down the pack. Benny had his first off-leash hike today, and Coco was his off-leash buddy for the day. The two of them were already wrestling around in the back of the packmobile on our way to the Settler's Park, and when they got to roam the trails together their play continued. Whenever Benny started to wander too far ahead, I didn't even have to call him back ...

The Adventure Pack
Coco and Rucksack started off with their usual romping and wrestling. Later, when they had their turn on leash, Rucksack found a nice big pinecone to carry along with him. He eventually lost interest in it and dropped it to pick up a stick that stood out to him. Fletcher came over to check out Rucksack's find and mouthed it for a moment but then let Rucksack keep it without a struggle. Mogul got ahead of us at one point and I called for ...

The Adventure Pack
Coco was much more respectful of Rucksack's right to carry a stick today. He started off with a smallish chunk of wood that he carried around for a while until he dropped to do a full-body shake to rid himself of some of the specimens he had gathered while trotting through the brush. Coco didn't harass him for that piece of wood up to then, but she couldn't resist the opportunity to steal it out from under his nose. Wesley didn't romp around w...

The Adventure Pack
Rucksack found a big branch to carry today, and Coco immediately started harassing him for it. The moment he dropped the stick and backed off, Coco went on with her business sniffing the trail ahead and left the stick behind. When Rucksack went back to get the stick, Coco's interest was renewed and she warded him away. After this happened a few times, I decided Coco was just being a bully so I blocked her from going back to the stick and direc...

The Adventure Pack
Coco and Rucksack had fun wrestling around during the hike today. Wesley and Toskey spent the latter half of the hike off leash together and they must have been a bit tired out by then because they mostly just hung out; that is, until they both noticed a squirrel and bolted for it, chasing it up a nearby tree. Then they sat at the bottom of the tree staring up intently for a couple minutes before following me up the trail.
...

The Adventure Pack
Wesley is getting more and more playful with his packmates now that he's been getting off leash regularly on the hikes. He and Rucksack chased each other at the beginning of today's hike. At one point, Rucksack was standing right in front of Wesley on the trail and the two of them had a stand off for several moments before Rucksack broke and went running, with Wesley in hot pursuit. Later on, Coco and Wesley ran around together side-by-side....

The Adventure Pack
Fletcher, Coco, and Rucksack all pulled when they were on leash today, especially Fletcher. He's very responsive when he's off leash and is quick to come to me whenever I call, but when he's on leash it's like he's always anticipating my next move and he wants to beat me there. I've been working with him one-on-one when I bring him to and from the car and he's gotten better at that; I'm still hoping for it to translate to when he's walking in a grou...

The Adventure Pack
Mogul and Coco played with each other at the beginning of today's hike. It's fun seeing Mogul so playful again, and he and Coco definitely had a good time together. Later on, Rucksack found a stick he liked but got mugged by Coco and the two of them ran around a bit. At one point, they came right up next to me with Mogul and Benny on leash, and Benny took his chance to get in on the stick. He started gnawing on a small off-shoot while Ru...

The Adventure Pack
Wesley and Toskey started off today's hike by running ahead on the trail and through the brush while pouncing and dodging one another. Coco and Rucksack wanted to join but it was their time on leash. When they went off leash for the latter half of the hike, they made up for lost time in romping with one another and stealing a stick back and forth as they love to do.
The Play Pack
Coco, Benny, and Fletcher a...
