Adventure Pack

Rucksack and Roger Roger seemed a bit more used to walking on the right today - we had much less difficulty getting everyone on the same page.  Roger Roger tried to start a couple wrestling matches with Sputnik but they were a lot easier to interrupt than usual and leash-tangling was kept to a minimum.  Oliver kept his manners with passing dogs, except one time when Benny stepped in front of him to sniff noses with another dog and Oliver got stuck right i...

Adventure Pack

It was a pretty quiet day on the trails.  Milo and Rucksack followed their noses and lingered at some spots that caught their interest.  Roger Roger joined in occasionally to see what interested them.  Mamacita was less intrigued.

Isaac actually followed other dogs around at the park today instead of just playing fetch, including a Husky who he chased for a bit.  Sputnik and Mamacita ran with each ot...

Adventure Pack

The pack was a bit out of sync today and we had some trouble getting everyone moving in the same direction.  That might be due to the fact that I walked Rucksack and Roger Roger at my right rather than my left as usual, since they've been trying to drag me to greet other dogs so I wanted to create more of a buffer, and Benny and Oliver moved to my left.  Sputnik stayed at the right side, where he usually is, due to his occasional aggression towards passin...

Adventure Pack

Milo lingered behind a lot as we made our way up the mountain today, pausing to sniff out a lot of spots that interested him or just using that as an excuse to take it slow.  Benny hung back about halfway to Milo, sometimes wandering off the trail a bit, following his nose but keeping up a quicker pace so as not to fall as far behind as his buddy.  Roger Roger found a small stick to bring along for part of the hike but he was more intersted in chewing it ...

Adventure Pack

Today on the trails the pack was swarmed by a group of about 20 school kids who were out on a field trip to the Chautauqua.  Rucksack, Milo, and Mamacita all enjoyed the attention.  Roger Roger took the distraction as an opportunity to chew on Benny's ears, which Benny didn't seem to mind.

Sadie found a lot of playmates at the park today.  The first was a Mamalute puppy who hopped around and ran with her. ...

Adventure Pack

Benny and Oliver followed the pack from behind at a distance as we hiked today.  Oliver and Sputnik were both calm and collected when we passed other dogs on the trails, even when some of those dogs were pretty amped up themselves.  Rucksack and Roger Roger passed a pine cone back and forth throughout the hike.  Surprisingly, Roger Roger seemed more delicate with it than Rucksack, who crunched it quite a bit.

Adventure Pack

Thompson was very eager to have some water on our breaks during today's hike, even trying to nose his way in on Milo's turn for a drink.  Milo didn't pay much mind while Thompson licked his chin.  Rucksack and Roger Roger were both eager to greet passing dogs and kept trying to pull across the trail to see them, so I switched their position to the far side.

Play Pack

Sputnik was a bit stiff and standoffish when we first...

Adventure Pack

There was a choice stick in the middle of the trail when we first set out today but neither Rucksack nor Roger Roger took an interest in it, even when I stopped and gave it a nudge to get their attention.  I suppose my taste in lumber isn't as refined as theirs.  Sadie and Oliver were both in a confrontational mood and barked a the first couple dogs we passed.  Oliver mellowed out as the hike continued while Sadie still got a bit worked up, though sh...

Adventure Pack

The pack took their time to smell the proverbial roses along the trail today, stopping at many a bush to inhale the sweet scent of what was likely other dogs' urine markings.  Milo, Rucksack, and Roger Roger were particular drawn by their noses, while Benny and Mamacita were a bit less intent on sniffing out the goings-on.

Play Pack

Sputnik and Sadie started off their park visit by immediately breaking into play with one another....

Adventure Pack

The pack took an easy pace on the hike today.  Everyone was very interested in thoroughly sniffing some spots out together at the beginning of the hike.  Rucksack and Roger Roger negotiated stick-carrying priveleges again and Roger Roger came out with the object in question as usual.  Mamacita, Milo, and Benny were all content with just hiking along and stuck to my sides without any interest in their packmates' stick.
