The Adventure Pack
Everyone was exceptionally good on the leash today. Even when the path ran behind a house with a very noisy dog charging at the fence, Rucksack, Wesley, Sage, and Coco all stayed with me and then sat in place and ignored the other dog for a few minutes. It was a great display of their self control and I was very impressed with everyone.

The Adventure Pack
Sputnik and Coco have only met briefly before, but they got to hang out this morning when Coco joined the Adventure Pack for the day. After Coco explained to Sputnik that he needed to stay calm if he wanted to be in her space, the two of them got along wonderfully and spent all their time in the packmobile licking, mouthing, and nibbling each other's heads, ears, and faces. On the walk, Rucksack has continued to gradually improve his on-leash manner...

The Adventure Pack
It sure was cold out today! Coco and Benny enjoyed digging at the semi-frozen mounds of snow alongside the path to see what smells they might uncover. A while into our walk, Benny and Yoda both had some cold paws and didn't want to walk, so I rubbed away any snow and massaged their paws for a moment until they were comfortable enough to make our way back. Rucksack and Coco seemed unfazed by the cold.

The Adventure Pack
Benny and Sputnik walked side-by-side today and had a fun time teasing each other with nose nudges and ear nibbles. Meanwhile, Wesley walked along in lock step at my side. Rucksack pulled a bit on the leash, although he was much better than he had been in the beginning of the week.

The Adventure Pack
Rucksack found a small stick to carry on today's walk and consequently had Sputnik's attention for a while. Sputnik was set on stealing his packmate's toy and eventually succeeded. Once Sputnik took the stick, Rucksack lost interest; which, inturn, caused Sputnik to lose interest and drop the stick. Once Sputnik dropped it, Rucksack revealed that he was only playing disinterested and he immediately dove on it, which led Sputnik to become inter...

The Adventure Pack
Sage was very excited to greet her packmates this morning. Coco was a bit overwhelmed by the high-energy greeting and sternly told Sage to tone it down. Sage got the idea and lied down next to Coco, still with a big smile on her face. Wesley and Rucksack were both quite taken with the flock of geese we passed. I had everyone sit and wait for a minute when they started pulling on their leashes to try to get over to them.

The Adventure Pack
Benny took up snow-chomping duties back from Rucksack today. Rucksack and Sputnik were more interested in sniffing the snow than in eating it. There was one spot alongside the path where some ground was overturned by a plow, and that also caught their interest. Rucksack, Sputnik, Oliver, and Benny all gave that spot a thorough investigation before we continued on with the rest of our walk.

The Adventure Pack
Rucksack was the one chomping snow as we walked today. Meanwhile, Coco's nose was glued to the ground for most of the time. There was one stretch of the path that ran alongside a field filled with geese, and I had to keep a close eye on Benny to keep him from making a snack out of their droppings. Yoda trotted alongside Benny the whole time, happy to just be part of the group and not interested in sniffing, chomping snow, or eating goose p...

The Adventure Pack
Rucksack had his eye out for a stick to carry today, but was only able to find a couple twigs - but he made the most of them! Benny was more interested in snow than sticks, and he had plenty to chomp on. Coco and Wesley had their eyes out for squirrels, of which we saw a few, and they were very alert whenever we had an encounter.

Rucksack, Benny, and Oliver all appreciated how polite Sputnik was. Rucksack was the object of a few moments of elbow-nibbling but they were brief. Everyone sat and waited patiently to let oncoming dogs pass by unaccosted. Sputnik even lied down all on his own to show just how polite he can be.
