Sputnik and Isaac both wiggled around together in the grass at the Chautauqua Park at the end of our hike this morning.  A passerby commented that they looked like very happy dogs, and they certainly were.

Isaac tried herding his packmates as they hopped out of the packmobile at the outset of our hike this morning, and earned a stern retort from Coco for the mistreatment.  They were a little wary of each other for a few minutes after that but eventually relaxed as we made our way along the trail.  We passed an Australian Shepherd who sniffed hellos with everyone.  Sputnik didn't react at first but then he broke his calm and growled, so I had him sit fo...

Thompson, Coco, and Sputnik were all panting heavily as it was pretty hot out during our morning hike.  They all eagerly drank from the Camelbak at each water break, trying to nose their way in ahead of each other.  Mamacita was more comfortable with the heat and not so desperate for a drink, though she did have some water as well.

Isaac and Sputnik hiked the Chautauqua together this morning.  We didn't make many stops and only saw a couple small dogs along the way, in whom neither Sputnik nor Isaac were very interested.  We just trotted along the trail until we made our way back down to the grassy park, where Isaac had a wiggle in the grass while Sputnik peed on a tree.

We came across Sputnik's next-door neighbor at the trailhead as we were ending our hike this morning and Sputnik was happy to go say hello when she recognized him.  After that, we walked around the Chautauqua park and Stella, Isaac, and Mamacita all wiggled around on their backs in the grass for a good long while before we finally made our way back to the packmobile.

Rucksack rejoined the pack for the day and was happy to see his old friends Coco, Sputnik, and Mamacita.  I was reminded of Rucksack's tendency to pull ahead on the leash when we set out at the Chautauqua, but he wasn't too bad.  We had a nice hike as Coco and Rucksack trotted along side-by-side, while Sputnik and Mamacita sniffed around in the brush together at my other side.

Coco, Yoda, Mamacita, and Sputnik all hiked the trails at the Chautauqua together this morning and everyone was right in pace with one another as we made easy work of the mountain.  When we took a water break, everyone but Mamacita was eager to have a drink.  I convinced Mamacita to have some, too, though, after her packmates took their turns drinking from the Camelbak spout.

Mamacita, Sputnik, and Thompson enjoyed their hike at the Chautauqua this morning.  Sputnik and Thompson made occasional stops to leave scent marks along the way.  Mamacita was less interested in marking territory than her packmates.

We came across several dogs on our hike this morning and Sputnik was back to being calm after going through a rough patch at the end of last week.  Stella wanted to stop and mark a lot of spots along the way.  She isn't used to drinking out of the Camelbak yet but hopefully she will get more accustomed to it now that she's coming on longer hikes.  Mamacita doesn't go for it like Sputnik and some other pack members do, but when I hold it right next to...
