Adventure Pack

The pack sat down by the trailhead at Settlers Park today to practice staying calm while others passed by. Milo whined at a dog passing on the sidewalk about 10 feet away and then Sputnik hopped up and growled, and Milo started growling at that point to, proving that we indeed needed the practice. We hung out for a while longer until they settled down and were calmer as other people and dogs passed. Roger Roger did the best job today and was calm th...

Adventure Pack

Ruffers really wanted Milo to play with her on the trails today and when we walked along the creek for a while he granted her wish.  They leapt through the water, racing side-by-side together and having a blast.  Rucksack and Roger Roger got a chance to hop into the creek after them and Rucksack was very intent on winning Ruffers' affection.  He kept licking her ears and nuzzling her shoulder.  Ruffers threw her hip at him flirtatiously a few ti...

Adventure Pack

Milo gulped water from the Creek by holding his mouth open as the current came toward him.  Ruffers and Roger Roger sometimes got distracted along the path by other dogs walking behind us, but they kept up with a little leash-jangle and encouragement.

Coco actually ventured out to join her sister Charlie in exploring the park today, rather than sticking to my heel for the entire visit.  Every now and then, Coc...

Adventure Pack

The pack walked along the Creek path nicely today, even on a few occasions when we passed by other dogs who barked at us.  At one point, Sputnik and Ruffers did paw and mouth at each other a bit but they mostly kept pace while doing it and didn't get too wild before turning their attentions back to the path.  Milo enjoyed occasional stops to sniff and pee alongside the path.  Rucksack and Roger Roger were mostly just focused on walking, although a sq...

Adventure Pack

Ruffers and Roger Roger had some fun playing with one another while we took a break along the Creek today.  It started with Ruffers pawing at Roger Roger and then Roger Roger started pawing back and they ended up hopping around together playfully.  Meanwhile, Milo sat and enjoyed getting his neck scratched and Mamacita and Rucksack were busy sniffing around.

Isaac was all about fetching at the park, as usual. ...

Adventure Pack

We went up the Red Rocks trails today and everyone kept up well despite the heat, though we took a pretty easy pace.  Rucksack and Sputnik were eager to get going while Milo, Ruffers, and Roger Roger were all pretty content with the pace I set.  When we came back to the stream on our way down, Sputnik and Milo both leapt straight into the water as soon as we got close enough.

Adventure Pack

We stopped at a spot along the Creek today where it quickly got deep enough that Roger Roger and Milo both got in a little bit of a swim.  Ruffers and Mamacita also enjoyed the Creek but were less adventurous about wading out to the deeper water.

Stella was eager to greet a couple friendly, tan-coated dogs when we first arrived at the park.  Meanwhile, Sputnik and Ruffers wrestled around but Sputnik was...

Adventure Pack

Rucksack is really enamored by Ruffers and spent much of the hike trying to lick her ears and sometimes trying to mount her.  Ruffers didn't seem to be minding the attention but I interrupted whenever he tried mounting.  Meanwhile, Roger Roger, Milo, and Mamacita were all good hikers who walked the trail by my side nicely, aside from the occasional sudden stop by Milo when he decided he needed to scent mark some bush.

Adventure Pack

Thompson couldn't get enough of wading in the Creek today and really didn't want to get out of the water when I finally decided it was time to move on and his packmates were ready to hit the trail again. Even Milo was ready to keep going but it took some convincing to get Thompson to come along.  A young girl at the park came over and asked if she could say hello the dogs, and it turned out she was a little dog whisperer who took it upon herself to settle Sput...

Adventure Pack

Milo and Thompson each lingered behind the pack at different streams we passed on the trails today, even after we all spent a while hanging out by the water together. Roger Roger and Rucksack passed a stick back and forth between them as we made our way along the trail.  Mamacita stayed right by my side as usual, a great little hiker while she's on the leash.

Sputnik and Isaac took turns playing fetch as they share...
