Adventure Pack

Wesley and Osito spent the first half of our hike off leash.  Osito walked a few paces ahead of the group, stopping and looking back every few steps along the way while Wesley brought up the rear.  The pack started off with a refreshing dip in the creek and we made several water breaks so everyone stayed relatively cool.  On the way down, Rucksack and Benny did more exploring in the brush between the trail and the creek.  Rucksack loves to make ...

Wesley was more energetic than I've seen him in a while as he ran back and forth between the trail and the creek that runs alongside it.  He couldn't quite keep up with Rucksack, though, who was always a few steps ahead of him.  Bennyalso did some exploring off the trail, though he took his time wandering rather than running back and forth like his packmates.

Adventure Pack

Rucksack and Sputnik raced each other up and down the trail at the start of today's hike.  Afterward, they settled down and Sputnik shadowed his older packmate.  Benny was more playful on today's hike than usual, popping in and out from the bushes alongside the trail as we passed along the creek.  Oliver followed behind me the entire time, stopping for the ocassional sniff.

Adventure Pack

Despite the misty conditions, Rucksack, Isaac, and Wesley were all still very excited to take a dip in the creek.  Isaac tried hauling a few different fallen tree trunks but settled for a smaller log.  Rucksack left the stick-carrying to his packmate for the day.  When he wasn't getting his paws wet, Wesley stuck close to my heel as usual.

We took a slow pace as everyone was especially interested in the smells along the trails today.  Sputnik was the most curious of the bunch but Rucksack, Benny, and Oliver all did a lot of exploring with their noses as well.

It was a hot one today.  We made a stop in the creek at the beginning of the Gregory Canyon trail and everyone got wet before we made our way up the trail.  Rucksack had plenty of energy to spare as he darted back and forth between the trail and the creek that runs by it.  Wesley, Osito, and Benny took it slower and relaxed in shady spots every now and then.

Benny found something interesting off the trail on our way up the First Flatiron and hesitated to come back when I called him.  It must have been good because the same thing happened with Rucksack in the same spot on our way back down.  Wesley stuck by me throughout.

The Adventure Pack

Oliver and Benny had the first turn off-leash during today's hike.  Oliver stuck close to me, Rucksack, and Sputnik while Benny wandered off the side of the trail exploring the smells.  Later on, when Rucksack and Sputnik had their turn, they romped around with one another a lot at first and then settled down and explored together.

Coco and Rucksack ran around the trails with each other for a long while.  Rucksack's energy eventually waned and he trotted along with me and Wesley but Coco kept running up the trails and back, hoping to spark her packmate's playful spirits again.

We stayed on leash today to practice walking together and being aware of our packmates.  The bigger dogs tend to overlook Oliver and he gets puched around a bit so I had him walk in front while Benny, Rucksack, and Sputnik followed and I made sure they gave Oliver enough space.
