Coco did well on her first day of Pack Activities after being spayed.  She met a friendly Rhodesian Ridgeback early on that hiked with us for about half the time.  We had a scare when Coco stumbled upon a snake in the brush just next to the trail.  She dodged a strike and came running over to me.  The snake was hissing loudly but I didn't hear a rattle, so it was probably a non-venomous Bull snake.  I checked Coco over after grabbing her Ridgeback friend who was curio...

Toskey didn't have a furry hiking partner today since Coco is still recovering from being spayed over the weekend.  Toskey was keen on making human friends and she walked right into the middle of a circle of people who were figuring out where they were going, approached several different people who were sitting on rocks just off the trails, and almost seemed like she was going to walk off with a couple other groups of hikers!

At the park, I played soccer again with Ruck...

Mogul and Rucksack made a couple friends during the hike today and they all chased each other around as we headed back down the Chautauqua Trail.  Rucksack seemed to have an extra bounce in his step - maybe because he can see his surroundings better with his new hairstyle?  I have to say, though, I do miss the mop-top he had before!

At the park, Mogul saw one of the humans he knows from Dog City and he was very happy about it - he got all wiggly as he walked up to ...

Coco met a few friendly dogs during the hike today, and ran all around them with a wiggle like the little bundle of energy she is.  I played hide-and-seek with her again today and she didn’t run past me even once!  I guess she’s getting to be too smart for those tricks now.

Rucksack had a great time running around with a (I think) Husky mix while Coco had a great time chasing Rucksack’s tail. Rucksack and I played fetch and a few times I thr...

Ever since the day that the deer were hanging outside Rucksack's home, he looks around the corner by the front door with anticipation every time I bring him out.  We haven't seen any more deer yet but when we do Rucksack seems ready to give them a scare and send them hopping off again!  During today's hike Mogul and Rucksack took a short break to splash and lie around in the creek we crossed while heading back from Enchanted Mesa.  Mogul was especially rejuvinated after the dip...

New packmates are always fun, and Osiris was certainly no exception!  He's a big fluffy sweetheart and immediately got along with Coco and Rucksack upon greeting them in the packmobile.  He hopped up to the back of the car with his front paws and sort of lied down like that while he let Coco and Rucksack check him out.  Once he hopped all the way in, Rucksack nudged and licked at his face for a minute, then Osiris lied down and let Coco jump around on him while they mouthed pla...

Toskey was so excited when I showed up to take her out for the Adventure Pack that she could hardly contain herself.  She ended up lying on her back on the couch, wiggling around while she got a belly rub for a minute before we left.  Coco and Toskey love chasing each other through the tall grass.  They also love playing keep-away from each other with sticks.  This makes for plenty of exercise for the both of them.

At the park, there were several other yo...

Mogul hung back throughout the hike today.  He had a couple spurts of energy and ran around with Rucksack, and he greeted a few other dogs along the trails.  Rucksack found the same big log that he carried around a few weeks ago and he brought it with us for most of the hike.

At the park, Mogul was very mellow and spent most of the time lying under a picnic table.  At one point he must have gotten some pollen up his nose because he kept blowing out of it over ...

Coco and Rucksack tired each other out during today's hike.  They ran and ran together as if they were attached at the hip, checking out scents together and playing tug-of-war over various sticks.  The play continued when we first arrived at the dog park, but they eventually split up as Rucksack became interested in chasing down a basketball that I kicked around for him while Coco was learning to fetch with a tennis ball which she could actually fit in her mouth.  By the end of...

Mogul had his first day back with the Pack in 2 weeks!  He enjoyed himself on the hike, following his usual trend of lagging behind to smell the roses during the first half, and bounding up ahead playfully during the return trip; as we headed back from the Enchanted Mesa, Coco and Mogul chased each other all through the brush.  A short while before, when we were up on the Enchanted Mesa, we could hear a dog barking in a high-pitched, anxious manner.  Coco and Mogul froze in t...
