It was a pretty laid-back day again today. There was one yellow lab mix at the park that Mogul took an interest in and had a good chase with toward the end of our visit. Chelsea wrestled around with a few different dogs, including Buzz; and Mogul and Chelsea played together a bit. Mogul wasn't as interested in chasing down balls today as usual. He mostly just wanted to hang out and be pet. Chelsea acted as a life-size chew toy for a little puppy, which she seemed...

During the walk today, there was a family of deer on the other side of a small creek. We had stopped for Mogul to do his business when I noticed them. Chelsea and Mogul caught their scent and were sniffing into the wind for a minute before we moved on. It looked like a buck, a doe, and a fawn.
On the whole, the pack was pretty mellow at the park today. Chelsea wrestled with Buzz for a while and covered him pretty well with slobber. A little...

The area where the pack has been walking this month has a lot of prairie dogs. Chelsea and Mogul are both very good about staying with me and not trying to chase them, even when the burrows are only 5 feet from the sidewalk and the prairie dogs are chirping the whole time we pass by.
Mogul and Chelsea mostly played with each other today at the park, although there was a male boxer mix that wrestled around with them for a while. Bill the Boston terrier was th...

The mud at the park has finally all dried up!
Marley met Buzz the border collie mix earlier in the week, but they weren't especially interested in each other then. Today was a different story as the two of them had a blast chasing each other all around. A bit later, she ran and danced around two australian shepherd mixes to lure them into play. The female was fourteen and had no interest in Marley's antics. The male was only six but still not impresse...

Mogul and Chelsea were great on the walk this morning as usual. Mogul hung behind a little, while Chelsea likes to be right up by my side. Mogul seems to especially like to scent mark forks in the road, which makes me wonder whether he's using those markings to keep his bearings. It may just be my imagination...
At the park, Marley found a playmate in a shiba inu/border collie mix early on. The other dog was shy at first but opened up and then went up...

The beautiful weather we've had the past couple days has helped dry up the mud from the melting snow, but there are still a few puddles at the park. A chocolate lab was having a great time splashing around and lying down in one big mud puddle. Thankfully Chelsea and Marley didn't join her!
A fluffy white Samoyed was particularly interested in Marley and followed her around just about the whole time he was there. Two different dog park visitors thought Chels...

Chelsea and Marley had a great time at the park today. It was a bit muddy and there weren't many other dogs when we first showed up, but after a little while plenty of friends were there to play with. Marley played with just about every dog that came to the park. Chelsea wrestled with Buzz - a regular at the park - as she often does.
At one point, Marley was dancing around Chelsea and play wrestling with her and, despite being probably only around half of C...

Mogul snuck his head up under my arm on the armrest when we were in the car today. It was adorable. He's never done that before. Chelsea usually claims the spot right behind the front seats. She was eager to go and full of drool today as usual.
We had a new member in the Playtime Pack: Marley!
Marley got along great with Chelsea and Mogul. She was a little nervous when they first hopped out of the packmobile to...

Adventure Pack
Mamacita joined Sputnik and Coco for this morning's hike at Shanahan Ridge. The snow was mostly melted but there are still some mounds and patches scattered around. Sputnik and Mamacita were interested in the scents uncovered by the melted snow and spent a lot of time lingering at spots with their noses to the ground. At one point, while Sputnik and Mama were investigating, Coco found a stick alongside the trail to chew on and keep her entertained. ...
