Adventure Pack
Benny, Oliver, Milo, and Sputnik hit the trails together this morning. Sputnik stayed calm through all of our encounters with passing dogs. Milo didn't get into any snow patches today. Oliver enjoyed the chance to check out all the smells and took his time more than usual today. Benny hovered between our lagging packmate and the rest of the group, as he typically does.

Adventure Pack
Milo kept pace the whole way up to the Flatironette. He even found a patch of snow that has yet to melt and got a good wiggle in along the way. Benny chomped on a little snow and followed closely behind me, Sputnik, and Mamacita. Sputnik was doing great with his greetings of dogs on the trail until we came across a Burnese Mountain dog on the way down. He kept his cool and wasn't even attempting to stare at the Burner until the moment we pas...

Adventure Pack
I took a little more time getting the pack to sit and wait while I gave everyone some pets before we set out on the trail this morning. It seemed to help set the tone as Milo didn't wander as far today and Sputnik stayed calm through all of our encounters with other dogs. Benny and Mamacita walked well with the group as usual and they both hopped around in the snow a bit. Even though Milo didn't wander off, he still found some good patches of snow...

Adventure Pack
We encountered a group of deer during our hike this morning. Benny, Oliver, and Sputnik all seemed oblivious, but Milo caught sight of them and went for a run through the snow in their direction. The deer hopped off into the distance and Milo stopped and stared for a moment before flopping down in the snow and rolling around, then heading back to rejoin the rest of us on the trail.

Adventure Pack
Thompson had a lot of fun shouldering down into the snow and flopping around while we were out on the trail this morning. Meanwhile, Mamacita leaped and hopped around as we made our way. Milo stretched out in the snow and rolled around a bit, as well. Sputnik had mixed reactions to the dogs we passed - sometimes cool and nonchalant, but very growly and tense a couple times. He's been having a lapse of comfort and manners around unfamiliar do...

Adventure Pack
There were few other dogs on the trail today but Sputniki, Milo, Benny and Oliver enjoyed saying hello to those we encountered. Milo kept up well today. Oliver bounced back and forth between lagging behind and leading the way, while Benny steadily stayed a few paces behind me and Sputnik the entire hike. Sputnik was a bit distracted by smells off the side of the trail at times. We made occassional stops to let everyone sniff aro...

Adventure Pack
Sputnik was a bit ornery about other dogs we saw on the trails this morning after spending the past week couped up after hurting his paw. By the time we made our descent, however, he had settled down quite a bit and didn't react negatively to the remaining dogs we passed. Meanwhile, Milo was feeling more energetic today than he had felt last week, and he resumed his habit of wiggling around in the snow and then bounding through it to catch up with the r...

Mamacita started chomping on snow as soon as we started out on the trail. Meanwhile, Milo sniffed around in the snow without indulging and Benny waited on the trail for his packmates to be ready to move on. We encountered multiple Golden Retrievers along the trail and the whole pack was happy to say hello, although the last one we met was a bit rowdy and earned some growls from Milo telling him to cool it.

Play Pack
We took several breaks during our walk along the Boulder Creek Path this afternoon so the pack could enjoy the snow. Thompson and Isaac both took the opportunities to flop down in the snow and wiggle all around. I was surprised that Milo didn't follow suit, but he was content just to lie down and chomp on the white stuff. Coco also got her fill of snow to eat, though she didn't recline in it like her packmates.

Adventure Pack
The pack entertained a lot of hikers today. First, they would be amused by Benny and Oliver's dramatic difference in size as they hiked alongside me. Then, they would notice Milo bring up the rear. Mutliple times, Milo then proceeded to wander over to a snow bank, lie down, eat some snow, and roll around. One hiker mused, "That's my kind of dog. We're on the same life path." Everyone who saw him got a kick out of Milo's antics.
