Adventure Pack
Milo and Sputnik enjoyed their hike together on fairly busy trails today. We came across a few friendly pups and Milo and Sputnik both made pleasant greetings. Milo seemed to find it easier to hike up the mountain today in the cooler weather and cloudy sky.

Sputnik made friends with a Vizsla-looking, dark-brown coated dog early on at the park today and enjoyed racing around without nipping at his playmate the way...

Benny kept up better on our way up the trail today. Oliver had no problem and spent much of the hike at the head of the pack. Sputnik was calm about passing dogs, even when Oliver started barking one time. However, he started to growl during greeting so I swept him away and had him sit for a moment before we conitnued on.

Sadie stayed on the leash for a little while to practice greeting dogs without barking...

Adventure Pack
It has really warmed up in the past couple days and the pack was feeling the heat as we hiked up the Flatiron Loop. Milo spent a long while in the stream along the Chautauqua Trail on our way before he felt ready to move on, and he set a very easy pace. Roger Roger made friends with a Cattle Dog and the two of them ran around and hopped all over each other until we split off and headed different ways. Rucksack was the most eager for water breaks, ...

Oliver got lots of kudos from other hikers for taking on the trails with the big dogs. At the end of our hike, we came across one of Benny and Oliver's neighbors and Benny was very happy to say hello. Not to be left out, Roger Roger jumped on Benny as he tried to nose his way in on the greetings. Rucksack was more civil, and also surprisingly more interested in sniffing the dog than gaining the affection of the human.

Rucksack found a small chunk of wood to carry along on the trails today. Roger Roger didn't fight him for it and just hiked along nicely. Milo didn't stop to pee nearly as often as he does when he has Thompson to compete with. Benny was a bit hesitant to head up the trail again at the start of our hike today but he warmed up pretty quickly and then hiked along with his packmates without any more complaints, and got to greet some friendly hikers wh...

We took Bluebell Road on our way up to the Third Flatiron and on our way back down today to keep less muddy again. The trails were a bit more traveled today and the pack greeted several hikers. Milo milled around one spot along the Flatiron Loop to avoid the final uphill climb, but went up just fine with a little encouragement. We passed a family of deer while most of the pack was on leash. Benny was off the leash and he perked up and hopped...

We avoided the muddiest trails again today and thankfully it wasn't raining today so the pack managed to stay pretty dry. Thompson and Milo were back at their usual competition to see who could mark the most spots. Rucksack and Roger Roger didn't find any sticks or pinecones of interest today.

Adventure Pack
The trails were very muddy today so we headed up and back along the Bluebell Road trail instead of the Chautauqua trail since it is more pebbly and was less slick with mud. The pack managed to keep relatively clean by avoiding the muddiest trails, though I can't say they stayed dry. Benny didn't seem too thrilled about hiking in the rain and tried to turn back a few times. Milo, Rucksack, and Roger Roger were better sports about it and didn't real...

No sticks or pinecones for Rucksack or Roger Roger today. They just stuck to hiking through the mud alongside their packmates Milo and Benny. Toward the end of our hike, Rucksack took to licking Milo's ears as he has done from time to time. Milo didn't react to the attention from Rucksack and just trotted along while Rucksack made his ears wet.

Rucksack found another pine cone to carry delicately while we hiked today. He brought it all the way back to the packmobile, where he laid it down intact. Benny greeted a fellow Ridgeback early on during today’s hike. Milo took his time on the trails to thoroughly sniff out various points of interest. Roger Roger didn’t go for any sticks today and just hiked along behind me.
