The Adventure Pack

Wesley plopped down by the trail and wiggled around on his back, which drew Sage into playfully hopping around him.  Later, Coco and Rucksack had a great time racing and wrestling one another.  The two of them are always especially excited when they go off-leash together.  They have been going out together regularly since they were both little pups and they prod and instigate each other like siblings.

Sputnik rejoined his friends Benny and Oliver for today's hike after taking a brief break to recover after being neutered last week.  He was full of energy and ready to play when he and Benny went off-leash together.  We came across a Ridgeback friend of Benny's who ran all over with Sputnik.  Benny joined in for spurts here and there, as well.  Oliver kept out of the way of the big dogs' roughhousing and contented himself with the various s...

Rucksack, Coco, and Benny all had a great time playing keep-away from one another with various sticks we found along the trails today.  Coco was the most successful at stealing away her packmates' prizes but after a while she let Rucksack hold onto his stick.  After they had enough with the sticks, their attentions turned to pinecones.  Coco was again the quickest to snatch them up under her packmates' noses, but if Rucksack or Benny...

Everyone was pretty calm on the trails today as the whole pack spent most of the time walking along as a group.  Wesley found one exciting spot to roll around in, though thankfully his coat looked relatively clean afterwards.  Coco had one playful burst when we came upon a fallen branch and some other sticks, and she paraded around with them to impress her packmates.  Rucksack and Benny both stayed pretty mellow throughout the hike.

Benny and Oliver took it easy today, sniffing right alongside the trail and trotting along at a relaxed pace as we made our way.  Rucksack and Coco, on the other hand, raced around with one another.  We kept changing directions when Coco and Rucksack were off leash to get them to follow us intsead of running up ahead the whole time.

Wesley and Sage trotted around the trails together today.  Sage was feeling very playful and got Wesley to run with her a bit.  When Wesley was done running and decided to walk along behind me, Sage teased Rucksack with a pinecone by placing it down by him and then darting in and grabbing it away when he went for it.  She kept putting it closer until Rucksack found a brief moment when she was distracted and he grabbed it away.  Later on, Ruc...

Benny and Oliver trotted along the trails side-by-side together for much of the hike today.  Rucksack found a nice, big stick to carry and was told how cute he was by a passing couple.  On the whole, the pack was very mellow today.

Sputnik and Sage joined today's adventure.  They typically come out different days and hadn't met each other before but they made fast friends and had a great time romping around the trails.  Benny and Rucksack had their own fun chasing each other when it was their turn off-leash.  Rucksack found a big hunk of stick that had both Benny and Sputnik gnawing at its ends to try to take it from their packmate.  Near the end of our hike, we came a...

Coco and Wesley had a fun romp in the snow together.  Wesley kept flopping down and making doggy-snow-angels while Coco sprinted by and leapt over him.  Later, Benny and Rucksack chased each other around along the side of the trail.  Benny grabbed up a stick for himself today to play keep-away instead of waiting for his packmates to find one for him to nibble the end of.

Oliver was very happy to wander the trail off the leash today; I could tell by  the extra bounce in his step.  Rucksack and Sputnik had a tug-of-war over a small stick.  Benny tried to get in on the fun but there wasn't enough stick for him to grab onto.  Later, Rucksack and Sputnik had a big run through the snow together.
