Adventure Pack

We took the easier Boulder Creek Path today even though it wasn't particularly hot.  Sputnik, Rucksack, and Chelsea all enjoyed soaking in the Creek when we stopped for a cool-off break.  Surprisingly, Milo just stepped in with his front paws to get a drink, as did Roger Roger.  Sputnik had an outburst of playful energy at one point and tried to get Chelsea or Roger Roger to join him by leaping and dropping in to play-bows around them, but neither to...

Adventure Pack

Rucksack took a real interest in Ruffers on today's hike and kept licking her ears as he has often done with Milo.  Ruffers didn't seem to mind much, though she did sometimes change position so that Roger Roger was between them and Rucksack couldn't reach her.  Milo kept up with his younger packmates as we made our way through a couple different loops in the Red Rocks trails.  Mamacita was great with all of the people we passed as we walked through E...

Adventure Pack

The pack ventured up the Red Rocks trail at Settler's Park today.  Everyone enjoyed long breaks at the stream, both on our way up the trail and on our way back down.  Rucksack was again the most eager to get into the water, and he and Milo were then the least willing to move on and leave it behind.  Ruffers had her first taste of water from the Camelbak spout along the trail today.  She watched as her packmates drank and started licking her lips...

Adventure Pack

We walked the Boulder Creek path today and everyone stayed in a nice formation for the duration, with just a little milling around between Milo, Rucksack, and Roger Roger when we first set out.  Sputnik and Ruffers walked together at my other side and were very easy to manage.  It was Ruffers' first time out with the Adventure Pack and she fell right into the rhythm of walking with her packmates.  Everyone got their paws wet in the Creek and Rucksack...

Adventure Pack

Thompson and Milo seemed like young pups when they ran along the trail after spending a little time wading in the stream today.  Rucksack and Roger Roger also enjoyed getting their paws wet, but they're already young and full of energy to begin with.  It was great seeing our older packmates have such a lively bounce in their steps!

Play Pack

Isaac walked the park on leash with me for a little while when we first arrived and ...

Adventure Pack

Rucksack and Milo chased each other through the stream today on our way up the Red Rocks trail.  After that, Rucksack found a long stick that he carried for just a little while before leaving it behind.  Roger Roger and Sputnik each grabbed on eend of the stick and carried it that way for a little while before Roger Roger got it for himself.  At that point, Rucksack took interest again and he and Roger Roger had a tug of war.  Roger Roger held o...

Adventure Pack

We stuck to the Boulder Creek Path because of the heat today for the shade and the cooler air off the Creek.  Milo, Rucksack, Roger Roger, and Mamacita all got into the Creek and got their legs wet while Sadie waited on a rock along the bank.

Play Pack

Sadie watched Sputnik while he played fetch at the park today.  I tried to throw some for her to get but she was too hesitant to go after it when she saw Sputnik running towar...

Adventure Pack

Milo and Rucksack raced each other down the stream today while Roger Roger, Mamacita, and Sputnik waded in the water.  Mamacita and Sputnik both watched their packmates' play intently and jumped at them whenever they leapt by.  After that, Milo was tuckered out.  We headed up the Anemone trail and I turned back to see him sitting at the base, with no intention of moving, as if to say, "You guys go ahead, I'll just meet you back here."  I convinc...

Adventure Pack

We spent a long while hanging out at the stream at the beginning of the Anemone trail today.  Milo and Thompson wandered downstream and after relieving himself Milo came bounding through the water back to the pack.  When we headed up the trail, Milo and Thompson both took their time and lingered in shady spots.  Meanwhile, Rucksack, Roger Roger, and Mamacita kept up a good pace, pausing with me every so often to let the older boys catch up.

Adventure Pack

Thompson and Sputnik were both especially eager to hop into the stream at Settler's Park today.  Milo, Rucksack, and Roger Roger all enjoyed a dip as well.  Milo kept closer to the pack today than he had when we were hiking Saddle Rock - I think he appreciated the gentler inclines.  He and Rucksack made friends with some parks department workers who were taking their lunch break by the trail.
