Coco was good about being friendly to strangers on the trails today.  Benny got into a stubborn mood again and kept stopping in place.  The moment I held a treat in my hand, he was walking right at my side and made sure not to fall behind.  Mogul and Rucksack both took interest in the treat in my hand as well.  Everyone got treats a couple times when we stopped and they all sat politely while others passed by.

Rucksack, Coco, and Benny were all happy to hike in the freshly fallen snow this morning.  Rucksack got wads of snow stuck to the long hair all over his legs again.  Benny kept sticking his nose into the snow and then pulling it out with snow all over his face.  We practiced good manners when another dog walked by, by everyone sitting and letting the other dog pass without swarming around him to say hi.  I was very proud of everyone, especia...

Benny was feeling very playful today.  He kept running up to Oliver, dipping his nose down at him, running around in circles, and then coming back to do it again.  Oliver wasn't impressed with Benny's goading and just kept walking along and sniffing things as if his brother weren't there.  Coco and Rucksack had a tug-of-war match over a stick that Coco found.

Rucksack and Toskey both had fun playing with Mogul on today's hike.  Rucksack approached Mogul slowly until Mogul broke his stance and chased him around.  Later, Toskey and Mogul ran around together, each chasing the other for brief spurts.  Coco got jealous when she saw Toskey and Mogul running together and she gave me a pretty good rope burn when she pulled the leash through my grip in an excited leap toward them.  Everyone got treats thr...

Since Coco's been unsure of hikers and joggers that we come across on the trails sometimes, I took a couple opportunities to have passers-by give her a treat today.  When we passed by a couple who slowed down to pet the pups as the passed by, I asked if they would do me a favor by feeding Coco one of the treats I had with me.  They were more than happy to oblige and Coco was happy to take the treat from them.  Afterwards, I gave Rucksack and Benn...

Rucksack enjoyed diving under trees when melting snow fell from them.  He tried to catch as much as he could while dancing around in every mini snow shower he could get to.  Unfortunately, his enthusiasm drew him well off the trail and out of sight for a few minutes despite me calling him back.  Benny was less excited about the falling snow.  He shied away whenever clumps fell near him.  Coco was even less excited - a big deluge came do...

Coco and Rucksack were off leash together on today's hike for the first time in a while.  They tend to get each other a little too excited and end up racing one another down the trails so I've only been letting them off leash with their other packmates.  They splashed up and down the stream we stopped at and had a lot of fun with one another.  Later on, Benny wanted to play with Oliver and started mouthing at him as they walked down the trail.

Rucksack and Mogul had a fun time off leash together.  Mogul lied down in the stream so the water came up to his neck while Rucksack ran up and down the stretch where we crossed, splashing all the way.  When we continued on, Rucksack danced around Mogul and got him to chase him around a bit.  Later, Coco and Toskey had fun with each other.  Toskey discovered a lost tennis ball and then Coco followed her around intently.
