Adventure Pack

It was super muddy today, but there was still some snow off the trail and Milo enjoyed chomping on it.  We saw a lot of dogs on the trail early on, and Milo excitedly ran over to say hello to them all while Benny and Mamacita walked along by my side.  Later on, Milo, Benny, and Mamacita all got pats from a little girl who asked to say hello.

Adventure Pack

Milo and Benny stuck to the trail with me, Mamacita, and Sputnik for most of the hike today.  On our way back down, however, Benny went for a playful run ahead of the pack, then rushed back and hopped around with Sputnik a bit.  Then, Milo wandered off the trail and had some fun romping through the deeper snow.  Mamacita had a playful streak in her the entire hike and kept doing her rear-back-then-leap-forward move intermittently along the way.

Milo took his time on our hike this morning, while Benny hung back about halfway between Milo and the rest of the pack.  Sputnik growled at one passing dog early on but seemed very unsure of himself in the moment and was easily diverted to keep walking on.  Isaac enjoyed joining the pack for a trail hike, since he's usually part of the afternoon pack but was able to take an opening while boarding with us when Oliver skipped for the day.

Milo and Thompson took their time sniffing along the trail together while Sputnik and Mamacita hiked along at my side.  Thankfully, despite their lingering, our two old timers still stuck to the trail and abstained from wandering off as they have been in the habit of doing recently.

Oliver and Benny kept up closer to Sputnik, Milo, and me on today's hike when they were off leash together, and they responded better than usual whenever I called them over to the side of the trail to let other hikers and their dogs pass by.  Milo and Sputnik took some long breaks to thoroughly sniff around in the brush today.

Adventure Pack

Benny and Milo took their time exploring the trail as they brought up the rear during our hike.  Sputnik and Mamacita got spooked when a jogger and his yellow Lab came up behind us.  It was windy and they came from downwind of us, so Sputnik and Mamacita didn't hear or smell them coming, and they both leapt up and growled when the yellow Lab ran past.

Milo and Sputnik enjoyed plenty sniffing along the trail this morning while Mamacita and Benny followed me with less distraction.  We had a few pleasant encounters with dogs we passed along the way.  Altogether it was a peaceful hike in gorgeous weather.

We came across a hiker today whom we frequently see on the trails.  He used to hike with his Golden Retriever before she passed away, and he is always happy to see the pack.  Benny went right up to him to say hello, followed by Sputnik and Milo.  Oliver was lingering behind to sniff around the trail but when he caught up he went up and said hello as well, while Milo lied down to take a rest.  The pack has been visiting the trails so regularly fo...

Thompson decided to wander off again on our way up the mountain this morning.  Milo, however, stuck with the pack even though he was lingering behind a bit.  Once we recovered Thompson - who pretended to go one way and then popped up down the trail in the opposite direction - we headed up the Mesa Trail.  Sputnik and Mamacita were both very excited to sniff and greet a couple dogs we passed along the way.  Mama made some groans and whines to exp...

Sputnik, Benny, Oliver, and Milo enjoyed our hike on the Mesa Trail this morning.  They took in the morning while trotting along with me, only stopping a few times along the way to sniff out spots of interest.
