Milo and Sputnik didn't hesitate to hop into the Creek on our first stop during this morning's walk.  Ruffers and Mamacita, on the other hand, stayed on the bank and tentavily pawed and licked at the water.  They were a bit uncertain because of the immediate dropoff to chest-deep water.  When we stopped along the Creek later, Mamacita joined the boys in the water but Ruffers was still wary and stayed on dry land.  I encouraged her to go in but s...

Adventure Pack

The pack was greeted by a couple women this morning as we were walking through Eben G. Fine Park at the end of our walk along Boulder Creek.  Sputnik was very eager to have their attention and nuzzled into them.  Milo sat by and waited for them to come to him, but was still clearly very content to have his ears scratched.  Ruffers was a bit wary of the attention, however, and backed up before stepping forward again tentatively to sniff at their hands...

Adventure Pack

The sun was obscured by cloud cover today, but the air was hot and humid.  Ruffers got lots of kisses from her packmate Sputnik when he joined us in the packmobile and we headed to the park to start our walk.  Mamacita, Milo, Sputnik and Ruffers walked the Boulder Creek Path together at a relatively slow pace since there wasn't any way to escape the muggy atmosphere and heat.

Adventure Pack

The pack walked Boulder Creek this morning.  We made a stop at the water early on and Mamacita was the first to hop in, followed by Sputnik and Milo.  Ruffers stayed on dry land while her packmates waded through the Creek.  When we stopped at the water again later on, however, Ruffers was quick to hop in and the rest of the pack was also happy for round 2 of Creek time.

Ruffers, Milo, and Sputnik all lingered at a lot of spots along the trail today to get a good sniff today.  We made slow progress as Sputnik kept getting drawn off the side of the trail and Ruffers and Milo kept stopping in place to check out whatever caught their noses.

Adventure Pack

Thompson went on an excursion this morning when he disappeared in the brush and eventually turned up down in the nearby gully, wading through the stream.  Milo stuck with me, Sputnik, and Mamacita as we followed the trail down to the same point.  Thompson eventually turned up out of the thick brush, several minutes later, looking very pleased with himself.

Sputnik was enamored with Ruffers on our hike this morning and made several attempts to mount her, which were met with stern disapproval by both Ruffers and myself.  However, his love would not be contained as he continued to make attempts throughout the hike.  Meanwhile, detective Milo was on a case, spending long minutes finding out every detail his nose could tell him about various points of interest.

We made our way up the Anemone Trail this morning and I could tell the whole pack was happy for the slightly cooler weather, as everyone was up for the steeper terrain.  Sputnik was especially eager to go and I had to remind him not to pull.  Ruffers and Mamacita hiked along right at my sides and Milo brought up the rear.  He was very happy to stand and soak in the running water of the stream after our descent and he was the last to climb out, drippi...

Adventue Pack

We found a spot along the stream where the water is running belly-deep and the pack enjoyed a long soak there.  Ruffers, Mamacita, and Sputnik all enjoyed it and Milo was so content he would have stayed there all morning, but we eventually continued on the trail to the Red Rocks and then back down.

Ruffers, Sputnik, and Milo all enjoyed wading through the stream on our way up the Red Rocks trail this morning.  Everyone hiked along at a leisurely pace in the heat, and enjoyed water breaks in the shade.
