Adventure Pack

We lingered at the stream for a while this morning while Benny, Oliver, Milo, and Sputnik all enjoyed a dip.  Milo and Sputnik were especially content to just hang out in the water.  Sputnik growled at one dog who came around the bend but he settled down quickly and then lay down while the other dog sniffed around the area.

It was classic Rucksack this morning when he found a stick on the hike and hauled it all the way back to the parking lot.  Milo and Sputnik each had a gnaw on the ends of Rucksack's stick as he held it, but no one tried to steal it away.  Benny was busy moseying through the tall grass and didn't bother with the stick that his packmates were so interested in.

Sputnik, Benny, Mamacita, and Milo enjoyed lingering in the stream at several points during our hike this morning.  Benny and Sputnik also enjoyed greeting a group of humans who asked to say hello.  Milo and Mamacita weren't really interested in meeting new friends today.

Adventure Pack

Rucksack joined his old packmates Benny, Sputnik, and Milo for our hike up the Saddle Rock Trail this morning.  Rucksack spent much of his time splashing through the stream alongside the trail.  Benny and Sputnik walked along the trail with me while Milo lingered behind to spend as much time wading through the water as possible.

Milo, Thompson, and Sputnik were all happy to take a couple breaks at the creek by the trail this morning, while Mamacita opted not to dive in with her packmates.  Thompson and Sputnik were particularly eager, so we had a couple lessons in patience and in refraining from pulling ahead on the leash.  By the end of the hike, Milo had begun taking any pause as an oppotunity to lie down and take a load off.

Oliver, Benny, Milo and Sputnik got their paws wet in the stream at the Gregory Creek Trailhead as we passed through on our way to the Saddle Rock Trail.  Oliver tried to dodge the water but couldn't totally avoid it.  Milo and Sputnik both lingered as long as I would let them.  Benny was happy to follow me through the stream and didn't particularly care either way about getting wet.

We came across a lot of humans and dogs who wanted to say hello to the pack today.  Sputnik, Mamacita, Benny, and Milo were all happy to oblige.  Sputnik made some very friendly greetings with dogs.  He and Benny were both eager to say hello to all of the humans who came over.  Sputnik and Mamacita got into a wrestling match as we neared the end of our hike and stopped at a grassy spot by the park for a minute.  Meanwhile, Milo lay down and...

Sputnik, Benny, and Milo took an easy pace on the trails today, making frequent stops to all check out various patches of tall grass that had interesting scents left behind on them.

Thompson, Milo, Sputnik, and Mamacita had a pleasant hike at the Chautauqua this morning.  Sputnik has been keeping calm about other dogs we pass on the trails, which has been great. Everyone was happy to say hello to a friendly woman who came over to give some love.  Even Mamacita walked up to sniff delicately at her and get a scratch on the head.

We came across a very sweet and mellow pair of dogs with whom Benny, Oliver, Sputnik, and Milo were all pleased to make acquaintences.  Oliver is usually the first to go up and say hello to passing dogs but he was distracted by scents along the trail and lagging behind, so Benny was the first to say hello.  Then one of them came over to sniff Milo and Sputnik and everyone got along well.  Oliver finally joined us and then made some playful moves with...
