Adventure Pack

Roger Roger found the same bone alond the trail and he found a second one a short distance away.  Today, Rucksack contented himself with a pinecone.  Milo and Roger Roger enjoyed a dip in the pond, where Milo lingered for a bit of a swim before catching up with the pack.  Benny trotted along, keeping pace well today.  Roger Roger got into a rambunctious mood and tried harassing Rucksack and Milo each into playing with him.  Milo just turned...

Adventure Pack

Roger Roger found a bone off the side of the trail today.  I gave him a stick to carry instead but it didn't interest him nearly as much.  Rucksack happily took the stick, and then Roger Roger became more interested in it and gnawed on the end of it while Rucksack carried it.  Benny and Oliver didn't bother with bones or sticks and just stopped to sniff some spots along the trail every once in a while.

Adventure Pack

Rucksack looked disappointed that Coco wasn't in the car when I picked up him and Roger Roger today.  He enjoyed having his old friend back for a couple days and she really brought out his playful side.  Today, Thompson and Milo explored off the trail at their leisure and both enjoyed a dip in the pond along the Shanahan Ridge trail.  Rucksack and Roger Roger were excited to greet passing dogs.

Adventure Pack

Coco had one more day out with the pack today.  Milo and Benny were already used to having her back and were less animated today.  Benny and Oliver trotted at the back of the pack while Milo was busy wading in the stream alongside the trail.  Rucksack and Roger Roger both had fun running around with Coco, though.  Roger Roger started barking at Coco again today and she again kept running him off.  The three of them took turns chasing one an...

Adventure Pack

Our old packmate Coco is back in town and joined up with the pack for the day.  She and Milo greeted with lots of kisses.  She and Benny fell immediately into their old routine of Benny incessantly nosing and licking at Coco's face until Coco grumbled at him to stop being so pushy.  When Coco saw Rucksack, she got very wiggly and rubbed her head against his shoulder over and over.  It was very sweet.  Out on the trails, Coco had the whole p...

Adventure Pack

Not many people braved the elements today, so Benny, Rucksack, Roger Roger, Milo, and I had the trails pretty much to ourselves.  Benny seemed to find the cool weather more conducive to hiking and only stopped in place a couple times on our way up.  We encountered some deer, which had both Rucksack and Milo at high alert until they were well out of sight.  Roger Roger was a bit agitated, too, but he didn't seem to know what about and was just followi...

Adventure Pack

Milo and Roger Roger had fun romping in the snow together.  Roger Roger lost himself a couple times during their play and started barking in Milo's face but he cut it out quickly when I called to him and then went back to more friendly play.  Benny is still getting used to the more strenuous hike and stopped in place a lot again today.  Rucksack didn't find any good sticks or pinecones today as they were all buried under the snow.

Adventure Pack

I was very proud of Roger Roger for going the entire hike without harassing his packmates today.  He and Milo spent a while off leash together and happily sniffed around side-by-side.  Thompson was more manageable than usual today as he didn't pull on the leash much at all.  Rucksack found a pinecone in lieu of a good stick to carry.

Mamacita again enjoyed wiggling around in the grass at the park and today Mil...

Adventure Pack

Rucksack found a short stick to carry right at the beginning of our hike today.  Roger Roger was interested in it but it was too short for him to get a grip on it so he left it to his big brother.  Benny had a tougher time keeping up again today and was very thankful for our water breaks.  Oliver, who has often foregone water from the CamelBak, was also happy to partake.  He had much less difficulty keeping pace with the pack despite his short l...

Adventure Pack

Roger Roger again was a pleasant packmate for much of his off-leash time during today's hike; however, he again also began to bark at Milo when the two of them fell behind together.  He broke off from his exercise in harassment more quickly today when I called him, for which Milo was thankful.  On our way back, Milo and Rucksack both enjoyed getting their paws wet in the stream at the bottom of the Mesa trail.  It's not very deep but at least it's no...
