Adventure Pack

We headed to Settlers' Park and the Red Rocks trails this morning.  Mamacita was more animated than she usually is on our hikes.  She and Sputnik made some playful moves with one another.  Sputnik, Milo, and Thompson were all very interested in sniffing out the new trail for the month.  Everybody was eager to get into the stream each of the three times we crossed over it during our hike.

Milo and Sputnik explored the scents along the trail together this morning and both enjoyed a dip in the stream.  We took our time, as both of them were very interested in thoroughly examining many spots on the ways out and back.

Adventure Pack

Mamacita, Milo, and Sputnik put their noses to work this morning sniffing the damp ground.  I wonder what worlds they uncovered, to which I was completely nose-blind.  We came across a few dogs today and Sputnik was more mild mannered.  One young pup came up to say hello and sniffed greetings with Sputnik and Mamacita.  Milo was too busy drinking from the stream we crossed to be bothered by a puppy.

Sputnik and Milo hiked along side-by-side, stopping to sniff out all the same spots together.  However, when we passed other dogs they were on very different pages.  Milo just ignored the passers-by for the most part, while Sputnik was in wary mood and growled at them.  But even when one dog barked at us and got Sputnik going, Milo just walked on by without a care.

We encountered a few other hiking dogs along the trails today.  The first was very exciteable and had a fit of whipmering and growling as he passed, which drew a brief retort from both Mamacita and Sputnik.  Milo couldn't care less about the intrusion and just stood with a content look on his face.  Sputnik proceeded to greet the next couple dogs we saw nicely until they lingered for a moment longer than what he felt comfortable with, and he started ...

Sputnik, Milo, Benny, and Oliver were all interested in sniffing around and taking their time on the trail today, and we spent a while hanging out in the shade by the stream at Gregory Canyon again before making our way back.

The pack was happy to linger in a shady spot overlooking the stream at Gregory Canyon today.  Mamacita sniffed around the foliage while Benny sniffed at the air.  Sputnik perked his ears and listened to hikers that were out of sight while Milo sat quietly and contentedly.

The pack was pretty mellow on our hike this morning despite the cooler temperatures.  Milo, Mamacita, and Sputnik spent long whiles sniffing out some points of interest.  Thompson waited for his packmates without taking much interest in their finds.
