Adventure Pack
Roger Roger found a good stick to haul for the duration of the hike today. Sputnik tried to steal it from him every now and then but I stopped him. When I interrupted him, he was good about leaving Roger Roger alone and not diving straight back into harassing his packmate; however, he couldn't resist the temptation forever. Rucksack decided that one hiker who was sitting on a boulder by the trail was his new best friend and he walked over and stoo...

Adventure Pack
Thompson was panting quite a bit as we made our way up the trail and wishing for cooler weather like we had Monday. We stopped often so he could have water breaks. Milo, Mamacita, Rucksack, and Roger Roger were less taxed but they also enjoyed the breaks, although Mamacita wasn't interested in the water.
Play Pack
Ruffers was eager to find a playmate and danced around in front of several dogs during the early part of our p...

Adventure Pack
Oliver gets a lot of comments from passing hikers about how tough it must be for him to keep up with the big dogs, but he did just fine today as usual! Rucksack passed over a stick that was lying in the trail directly in his path. I nudged it with my foot as Roger Roger came up behind Rucksack, and Roger Roger was happy to take the suggestion and carry it for a while. Sputnik was very drawn by his nose today and kept veering off the side of the tr...

Adventure Pack
Roger Roger was in a mood to harass his packmate Benny today. In resonse, Benny opened his jaws wide and swung his head around to see if he could catch a limb on which to gnaw. When Benny wasn't being bombarded with puppy energy, he was exploring off the trail aliongside Milo. Later on, Rucksack and Roger Roger passed a small stick between them a few times. Mamacita was energized by the cool weather and kept trying to initiate play by rearin...

Happy Halloween!
Adventure Pack
Rucksack was back at licking Mamacita's ears throughout the hike today. Roger Roger was in the mood to prod at Benny and Rucksack until they gave him attention. Milo made frequent stops to investigate smells along the trail.
Play Pack
Sadie and Charlie have begun to get playful with one another, although they haven't quite negotiated the terms yet. They nudge each other wi...

Adventure Pack
The pack met many friendly dogs along the trails today. The dogs weren't shy about walking into the midst of the pack. Oliver and Sputnik stayed calm and friendly. Rucksack and Roger Roger were very eager to greet new friends and we had to work a bit on not pulling. Benny was busy sniffing around and only gave cursory attention to the other dogs.

Ruffers and Sadie enjoyed running and wrestling with ea...

Adventure Pack
The pack all seemed on the same page during today's hike. We kept a steady pace and just kept moving. Mamacita walked in between Rucksack and Roger Roger at my right while Thompson and Milo walked at my left. Nobody carried any stick or pinecones, Roger Roger didn't jump all over any of his packmates, and Rucksack didn't give either Mamacita or Milo a tongue bath. Thompson and Milo didn't stop every 2 minutes to mark territory. We just...

Adventure Pack
Rucksack found a pinecone to carry along for most of the hike. When he finally put it down, Roger Roger was quick to dive in and snatch it up. Sputnik growled at a Shetland Sheepdog just after it passed by us. I didn't see, but I'm guessing the Sheepdog was staring back at us after we passed. Oliver behaved himself well today and even kept his cool when approached by an excited puppy. Benny mosied along at a steady pace but stopped on a coup...

Adventure Pack
Mamacita got all of Rucksack's attention today as he again spent the hike walking alongside her and licking her ears. Milo was busy carrying a stick that he shared with Roger Roger for a while. Eventually, Roger Roger gave up his end and Milo carried it on a bit longer before leaving it for the next dog to find along the trail. Benny kept pace better than he had been the past couple weeks. I think the cool air invigorated him.

Adventure Pack
We took an easy pace on today's hike. Benny was the primary pace-setter, as he wanted to slow down and watch every passer-by go by. Roger Roger jumped on Benny sometimes when we came to a stop, but it didn't get Benny to move any quicker. Mamacita received a lot of attention from Rucksack, who kept licking her ears. Milo is usually the recipient of Rucksack's affections, but I guess Mama's ears were just tastier today so Milo's ears went unl...
