Adventure Pack

Milo and Benny stuck to the trail today.  The deeper snow is a bit awkward to walk through without snow shoes right now, with the way it almost hold you up and then suddenly drops you down, so I sympathized with their disinterest in making their way through that.  We mostly had a quiet hike, though we did greet an auburn-coated Doodle who greeted Milo and Benny both with great enthusiasm.

The snow drift re-blanketed the trail with snow that is denser than the initial snowfall from earlier this week, which made walking through it a little awkward, but Benny and Milo made the most of it and still had fun.  They met a very playful little dog who was very forward and got them both bowing and running around.

Milo and Thompson had a great time running through the snow along the trails today!  Thompson spent more time in the deep stuff and occassionally took breaks to pick the snow out from between his toes.  Milo went on a few romps as well, but spent more of his time following behind me on the trail, so he didn't have the same issues with snowball toes.

Milo and Benny had a great time on the snowy trails this morning.  We encounetered several other dogs along the way who were also enjoying themselves in the snow.  One Labradoodle got Benny to leap and run around with him.  Milo was more playful at the start of our hike but definitely got a bit tuckered out by the end.

Milo and Benny had a fun time exploring the trail side-by-side today.  They each had some playful outbursts along the way.  Benny's manifested in running and leaping in circles.  Milo's manifested in running alongside the trail and wiggling on his back in the snow.  It was a fun morning!

Milo, Oliver, and Benny all enjoyed our hike at Shanahan Ridge this morning. The ice is getting more and more slushy each day.  There are still some patches of snow, though, and Milo enjoyed chomping on it.

Milo bounded through the snow again today after greeting passing dogs.  Thompson and Mamacita were also both excited to say hello, and they eagerly sniffed their greetings when the other dogs ran up to us.  The trail was slightly less icy today due to the warm weather melting the top layer into a slightly slushy texture.

Milo enjoyed a good wiggle in the snow today.  Oliver had a fun time sniffing around the trail while Benny and Mamacita hiked along next to me.  Everyone perked up at the sound of a group of birds that were all chirping and squawking up ahead along the trail.  As we approached, I saw that a hawk had killed another bird and a bunch of magpies were all following them around and harassing the hawk over it's kill.  Then I saw a larger hawk flying ov...

Ruffers joined Milo and Benny for our hike at Shanahan Ridge this morning and she brought a boost of energy with her!  I haven't seen Benny run around so much since he was a little puppy.  He and Ruffers had a great time playing chase together in the occassional fields alongside the trail.  Milo didn't join in the chases but he had a happy and energetic demeanor through the hike, and he enjoyed a little jog every now and then.  Ruffers also foun...
