Adventure Pack
The wind was really blowing this morning as the pack headed back to the CU South Campus trails for our hike. As such, there were far fewer people out than there had been last Friday, when people were taking advantage of the freshly fallen snow. The snow had all turned to mud by this morning, and Coco, Sputnik, Rucksack, and Mamacita all got well-splattered with it over the course of the hike.

Adventure Pack
There were lots of cross-country skiers, some with their dogs, at the CU South trails this morning taking advantage of all the freshly fallen snow. Rucksack, Coco, and Sputnik all stayed on leash as we hiked through the busiest stretch of trail. The skiers were steering clear of the eastern loop, so the dogs all enjoyed a good romp in the snow together off the leash when we made it to that section. Rucksack was the most excited of the bunch, while S...

Adventure Pack
Thompson and Coco explored off the trail together while Sputnik and Mamacita hiked along at my side. Snow was falling lightly as we made our way through the CU South circuit. We encountered one very excited, white-coated German Shepherd who made playful moves with Coco and ran around Sputnik, Mamacita, and myself a few times. Sputnik was unnerved by the approach of the excited dog and got growly, but eventually mellowed at as the Shepherd continue...

Adventure Pack
Thompson joined the pack this morning for our hike at the CU South Campus trails. He and Monarch were the most enthusiastic about being out in the snow, as they both had a noticeable extra bounce in their steps. Sputnik was pretty stubborn about following his nose off the side of the trail, so we practiced the principle that the more adamantly he pulled the more decidedly we would go in the other direction. When he stepped delicately to the side t...

Adventure Pack
Coco, Sputnik, Mamacita, and Ruffers all enjoyed a light hike together this morning. It was a very mild day and everyone was seemed to be in a good mood as we trotted along the trail at CU South Campus. There were a few families out with their dogs on the trail today and everyone was pleasant, dog and human alike, though none of the dogs came up to greet the pack.

Adventure Pack
Coco and Sputnik had a blast romping and dodging around with each other this morning. They both tend to make a bit of noise while playing, but they also both recognize that the other is just playing, and they had a very fun time together.

Sanaya was actually bringing the ball back to me after chasing it down at the park this afternoon. Coco, however, was still mostly just interested in the pursuit and not in the ...

Adventure Pack
It was a windy morning at the CU South trails. Other dogs came up to us a few times during our hike. Thompson was very interested to say hello, while Coco also got in for a sniff. Mamacita sniffed tentatively but mostly kept to herself, while Sputnik sniffed the air in the direction of the greeting pups and only occassionally let out a light grumble to warn them not to try anything funny.

Adventure Pack
Luca and Isaac joined Coco and Sputnik for the hike at CU South this morning. We took a route that avoided the steepest hills since Luca's control over his hind legs is beginning to wane. Coco worked on walking at my heel on the leash rather than trying to get a step ahead all the time. Luca and Sputnik trotted along at either side of me, while Isaac brough up the rear. One hiker we passed commented that the dogs all looked very calm. ...

A presumptuous pup came right up between Coco and Sputnik early on during our hike, and they both greeted him by calmly and pleasantly sniffing hello. We had another pleasant greeting with another friendly dog who was a bit more deferential in his approach.

Adventure Pack
Sputnik made a few playful moves again with packmate Monarch today, though Monarch was distracted and didn't play back. Clover is still pretty unsure of the CamelBak. When I offered it, Sputnik and Coco went right for it as usual, while Monarch and Clover both sniffed at it, curiously. Cradling Monarch's head as I brought the spout to the side of her mouth worked to get her going, and once she was going I was able to back off from her and she kept...
