Adventure Pack

Rucksack rolled in a patch of snow enthusiastically while Benny was following his nose along the trail.  Oliver met a couple passing dogs while he was off leash.  He started with a bark to let them know he was there and then he settled down and sniffed politely.  Later on, Roger Roger enjoyed chasing after Sputnik, who sprinted and dodged with skill so that his younger packmate had a hard time keeping up.

Milo and Osito had a fun time together on the trails.  They jogged side-by-side together a bit and then got more playful.  Osito would lie down in the snow with his tail wagging while Milo stared at him from a short distance, then Milo would break his stance and run by Osito who would hop up and follow after his packmate briefly before doing it all over again.  Meanwhile, Sputnik, Roger Roger, and Rucksack all did an admirable job of staying relaxed ...

The pack behaved themselves very well from the beginning of today's hike.  Once we were a little ways into the trail, Sputnik and Roger Roger got a chance to run and play together.  This primarily involved Sputnik sprinting in big circles around the rest of the pack with Roger Roger chasing at his heels and occasionally letting out high-pitched barks of frustration over his inability to catch his packmate.  Rucksack got pretty worked up watching his...

Since the pack was a bit wired at the end of last week, the group stayed on leash today to practice sticking together and staying calmer.  We had a very pleasant hike with occasional breaks to sniff out spots that the pack found interesting.  Coco, Roger Roger, and Milo were the most interested in getting a nosefuls at such spots.  We also took a few breaks to all sit together and hang out, for the same purpose noted above.  Everyone was pretty ...

The pack was pretty rambunctious on today's hike.  Rucksack and Roger Roger - who are usually very good at coming when called - were wandering with little regard for my attempts to round them up.  Meanwhile, Coco was amped and really wanted to pull ahead to follow scents she was sniffing out along the trail.  Benny and Milo were a bit more mellow, excpet Milo slipped his collar a couple times before I tightened it up a bit; but when he did get out of...

Oliver and Benny trotted the snow-covered trail together and stuck close to the pack.  Roger Roger and Rucksack went off into the open fields we passed and stretched their legs with some running.  Sputnik practiced keeping calm and not jumping after every exciting distraction - something he can use a bit of work on.

Rucksack enjoyed shouldering down into the snow and wiggling on his back.  Meanwhile, Roger Roger found a stick to haul along the trail.  Coco and Milo roamed the snow covered fields, exploring.  Coco was getting a bit too worked up over other dogs that passed by so we took some time to have everyone lie down and relax together.

At the beginning of today's hike, Oliver was the only pack member who displayed an ability to walk nicely so he was the first to have a turn off-leash.  He had a great time running up and down the trail with the most bounce in his step that I've seen in recent past.  Later on, Benny nibbled at snow and bushes along the way while Rucksack tried to find the deepest snow remaining - though that didn't prove to be very deep.  Sputnik had trouble getting ...

Coco and Rucksack bounded through the snow together.  They'd race ahead and then when called back they would come running into the pack to be surrounded for a quick snuggle, then race down the trail again.  Milo and Roger Roger took a turn off leash together after.  Milo was feeling very playful and was happy to have Roger Roger tagging along with him and occasionally jumping into him with puppy exuberance.  Whereas Roger Roger's energy has some...

It warmed up slightly by the afternoon and Thompson was very happy to play in the snow.  Today ws the most excited I've seen him as he rolled around in the snow and leapt and wrestled with Chelsea.  Sputnik and Chelsea also had a great time together, wrestling and running through the snow.  There was one young pup who Sputnik really enjoyed ...
