Toskey and Rucksack had a lot of fun together today.  They chased each other in circles around Coco, Mogul, and myself as we hiked.  Then Toskey found a fallen tree trunk and snapped a branch stump off to tease Rucksack with.  Mogul trotted along today without getting very worked up.  Coco barked at a couple that we passed and she didn't come to me when I called, but she did stop barking and went to the side of the trail.  I had the oth...

There were a lot of friendly dogs on the trails today and all of the pack members enjoyed making new acquaintances.  Wesley greeted a group of three other Goldens right at the start of our hike.  After his initial excitement, he spent most of the rest of the time right by me.  Coco was really responsive at coming straight back to me every time I called her today.  Benny followed Rucksack around as he explored patches of untouched snow beside...

Benny and Rucksack played with each other a lot on today's hike.  They had a similarly goofy quality to the way they moved as they each tried to get a chin or paw over the shoulder of the other without letting the other do the same to them.  I let Mogul and Coco off leash together because Mogul tends to be pretty mellow a lot of the time and Coco has some stitches in her ear from yesterday; but Mogul ended up being full of energy and very playful toda...

Rucksack and Wesley trotted around together today but didn't get too worked up.  Rucksack did have some fun dancing beneath trees as snow fell from them - something I remember him enjoying last winter as well.  Wesley plopped down a few times along the trails to nibble packed snow from his paws and Benny helped him a little bit.  Benny and Coco were also pretty mellow on today's hike.

It was still quite cold for the Play Pack this afternoon, but the pups made the most of it.  Coco was sporting her styling new coat as she played a little fetch alongside Daisy and Fletcher until the ball got lost in the snow.  After that, Fletcher and Coco did a lot of running side-by-side together.  Fletcher likes to bark in Coco's ear when they run together....

Today, Coco was the one being taunted with a stick as Toskey teased her into chasing her all around.  Coco, who is usually in control with most of her playmates, had little luck in her attempts to snag Toskey's stuck away.  Rucksack was full of energy today.  He and Mogul did a bit of running together and Rucksack greeted every person and dog on the trails with exuberance.

I don't know how many mouthfuls of snow Benny ate today, but it was a lot!  He really loves chewing on anything he can get his mouth on along the trails, and when snow is all around him it's like a buffet.  Rucksack was wandering a bit far today and I called him back to me a lot.  He was good about turning around and heading back to me and his packmates once called.  Coco trotted alongside Wesley for a bit and then picked the pace up and got...

After a couple days that were too cold for the hike, today was pretty nice.  Coco and Benny nibbled on each other's faces in the packmobile on the way to the trail, and when they were off-leash together Coco chased Benny around.  I noticed Benny try using a move on Coco - looking back at her over one shoulder to try to draw her over to that side, and then spinning around the other way as she came near so he could catch her off guard - but Benny's move...

Coco chased Benny round and round a pine tree off the side of the trail today.  After they tired (or maybe got dizzy) they stopped and shook themselves off in unison.  I caught a photo of Benny mid-shake with his floppy ears sticking straight out - really cute!  Mogul and Rucksack were really playful with each other today!  Mogul chased Rucksack around the trails and Rucksack dropped into play-bows to tease him.
