Adventure Pack
Roger Roger leapt ahead when I let him off leash, then spun around and dropped into a quick bow to see who was coming with. I let Milo off leash at the same time, and he made a playful dodge as he ran toward Roger Roger. The momentary pursuit ended abruptly as they both hopped into the nearby stream, about 15 feet away. Then, I remembered the skunk we saw in the area yesterday and quickly put them both back on leash along with Rucksack. Ruck...

Adenture Pack
Rucksack found a small log at the top of our hike and brought it back down the mountain with us. Once we were most of the way back, he set it down to go sniff in the brush and then Roger Roger grabbed it up. A short while later, we came across a skunk making his way up the trail straight at us. Rucksack was sniffing in the brush again and thankfully came to me when I called him back. Roger Roger was on leash with me and Milo was following beh...

Adventure Pack
Roger Roger had a wandering spirit on today's hike and went well off the trail into the brush a few times. He came back quickly when called every time except once, when he lingered up the hill and Thompson joined him. When he eventually decided to rejoin us, he went back on the leash for the rest of the hike. After his little excursion with Roger Roger, Thompson stuck pretty close by along with Milo. We came across a few friendly dogs at the...

Adventure Pack
We took an easy pace on the trail today, for which Milo was thankful. Rucksack and Roger Roger had some energy to spare, though. At one point, Roger Roger and Milo were hanging back together and I whistled to them to catch up. Roger Roger started dancing in front of Milo and harassing him, but didn't bark in his face the way he has sometimes done to his packmates in the past, and he came running immediately when I said his name. It seems the...

Rucksack was very enthusiastic about getting to the stream today, both on our way up the trail and on our way back down. Milo had a good soak when we set out, and then stuck to shallower water on our downhill crossing. Roger Roger got a bit worked up, seeing his brother so excited. Mamacita just hiked along nicely.

Adventure Pack
We took a route off the main trail today which followed more closely along the stream; however, the side trail ended abruptly and we had to turn around and head back to our regular route along the main trail. At least Rucksack, Milo, and Roger Roger got to splash in the water for a bit more of the hike than usual.

Rucksack was interested in the pinecones on our way back down the mountain today. He picked one up and then dropped it to watch it roll rown the trail. Then, after doing that for a minute, he left that pinecone in front of Roger Roger and went and picked out another pinecone for himself. Roger Roger grabbed up the pinecone his brother left for him but only carried it for about 30 seconds before losing interest. Milo stood and looked on as th...

Adventure Pack
Despite the hotter, sunnier weather and the uphill trail, Milo fared better today than yesterday and didn't have any trouble keeping up with the rest of the pack. He and Thompson both enjoyed plenty of time wading through the water. Rucksack and Roger Roger both took a dip as well, though they stayed on the trail with me most of the time.

Benny, Oliver, Roger Roger, and Mamacita all had a nice hike up Saddle Rock today. We kept a good pace and made it a bit further up the trail than we had yet this month. The overcast weather helped keep us all a bit cooler so it was easier to keep moving.

Adventure Pack
It was overcast and much cooler all day today but Milo still felt he needed to wade upstream even when the trail split off, though he eventually made his way up the hill to join back up with the group. Rucksack and Roger Roger's new haircuts left them much less muddy than they have been lately. Benny had a few very playful outbursts as he wandered along the trail. Several times, he suddenly decided to sprint to catch up to the pack and then made a...
